ANÁLISE DO EFEITO PAÍS DE ORIGEM EM PRODUTOS CHINESES DE ALTO E BAIXO GRAUS DE ENVOLVIMENTO

Resumo

O efeito país de origem pode ser definido como a imagem, a reputação e o estereótipo que empresários e consumidores atribuem a produtos de determinado país. Tal imagem é criada por variáveis, como o grau de representatividade dos produtos, as características nacionais e econômicas, o contexto político e histórico e as tradições. Nesse sentido, com este estudo, buscou-se identificar a variação do efeito país de origem sobre a qualidade percebida e confiança em relação a produtos de fabricação chinesa com diferentes graus de envolvimento associados ao seu consumo. Para tanto, fez-se uso de uma pesquisa experimental, com design fatorial 2x2. Os resultados mostram que o grupo que recebeu o questionário com as informações referentes a um produto de alto envolvimento de fabricação chinesa apresentou médias significantemente inferiores quando comparado ao grupo controle. Por outro lado, para o grupo que recebeu questionários abordando um produto de baixo envolvimento de fabricação chinesa, as diferenças entre as médias obtidas não apresentaram significância quando comparadas às médias do grupo controle. Dessa forma, verificou-se que os participantes avaliam de forma inferior a qualidade percebida e a confiança de produtos de alto envolvimento cujo país de origem tenha estereótipo negativo.
